July: Month @ a Glance {07.01.2021}

Happy July 1st everyone! I hope you have had a wonderful week so far and are looking forward to a fun 4th of July holiday weekend! Thankfully we don't really have any plans so I will likely be heading to my in-law pool {weather permitting} and spending some time with friends over the weekend.

July is not usually a crazy busy month for us, but this year is a bit different.  We have a lot of wedding-related events this month.

So let's talk a little bit about the month of July and the fun things we're going to try and do this month.

On the Agenda this Month:

1. 4th of July Weekend.  We don't really have plans for the 4th of July holiday other than to hang out at home and potentially spend some time with our friends.  I'm also hoping to get over to my-laws to go swimming.

2. RTX @ Home. Usually we would be heading to Austin this weekend for RTX, but in an overabundance of caution Rooster Teeth decided to host their conference virtually again.  This year it runs for over a week, so I will be popping in and out of sessions while it's going on.

3. Christina's Wedding.  Christina was originally supposed to get married in Alaska this weekend, but due to COVID had to move her wedding to Michigan.  Justin and I were invited to her small wedding with her immediate family and a few close friends.

3. Sarah's Michigan Wedding Reception.  Sarah got married in Montana last weekend, but since not everyone could come to Montana, they are doing reception in Michigan to give family and friends a chance to celebrate them as well.

4. BBQ with my cousins.  I don't generally keep up with my dad's family due to issues in the family, so I was pleasantly surprised when I was invited to a BBQ at my cousin Andrea's house.  I'm excited to catch up and see how they all are doing.  And a BBQ, yes please!

5. Visit Nick & Kevin.  We planned a little staycation with Nick and Kevin which originally was to just go spend the weekend at their house, but we ended up adding a day trip to Mackinac Island to our little vacation and I am SO excited.  I love going to Mackinac and it has been years since I have set foot on the island.

6. Picnic with my mom's family. My Aunt is turning 60 this year and in an effort to celebrate her, my cousin planned a picnic for our family to get together for the first time since 2019.  I am excited to see my cousins and aunts/uncles.  Fingers crossed we have nice weather too!

Goals for July:

1. Read One Book: Yep.  This goal is still here.  This month I am hoping to finish reading the second book in the Shadow and Bone Series: Siege and Storm.  I became obsessed with the series when I started watching the show on Netflix.  If you haven't checked it out, I would highly recommend it!

2. Clean out the Pantry. Our pantry hasn't had a good cleaning in over a year, so I am planning to grab a few hours to clean everything out and get rid of things we no longer need.

3. Clean out the Basement.  This goal will span over July and August, but we desperately need to go through the stuff in our basement and start trashing/recycling things we no longer need.  Anyone else have a problem keeping boxes because "this is a nice box"? Yeah... we have that problem.

Question of the Day: What are you doing to keep yourself busy during the summer months.
