November: Month @ a Glance {11.01.25}

Saturday, November 1, 2025

Hello and happy Saturday friends! How are we this close to the end of 2025. I feel like this year has absolutely flown by and I'm not quite yet ready for it to be over. This month is going to be very busy but also fun and I am looking forward to the time we're going to spend with family and friends this month.

So without further ado, here's what's going on this month.

ON THE AGENDA THIS MONTH

1. Friendsgiving with book club friends.
This is the first time we will be doing a Friendsgiving with book club friends and it will be so fun. I love getting together with these ladies and look forward to time with them when we all get together.

2. Couple of doctor appointments. This month I have a counseling appointment, dentist appointment (boo cavities), plus mouth guard appointment. I am not looking forward to my dental appointment; however, I'm glad to be getting it done and getting a mouth guard since I grind my teeth when I sleep.

3. Lunch with a friend from elementary school. I have been trying to get together with this friend for a while, so I am excited to get together and catch up. As of right now, the plan is to have lunch.

4. Dinner for my step-dad's birthday + family photos with my family. We did family photos with Justin's family last month so, of course, I have scheduled them with my family this month too.

5. Book club(s). This month I only have two official book clubs and I am so excited. I feel like I've been running around trying to read too many books lately so it will be nice to just enjoy a few books that I want to read versus reading what I "have" to read.

6. Friendsgiving. We will be hosting our annual Friendsgiving with our friends the weekend before Thanksgiving and I am excited. This tradition is so much fun and a good way for us all to get together and catch up.

7. Holiday events. American Thanksgiving later in the month so we will be celebrating that with our families and at some point will be going to get our Christmas trees together. I love getting our trees with his family so that will be fun.

GOALS THIS MONTH
1. 30 days of yoga/stretching. I tried (and failed) in July AND August to do yoga or stretching every day for the month but honestly just fell apart about half way through the month. So for this month I would like to do stretches every day to help with my lower back pain.

2. Daily skin care. I would like to be better about caring for my skin so in August I am going to work to get in the habit of doing my whole skin care routine daily. My skin has been so dry so I'm hoping this will help with the dryness and irritation.

Like previous months I will be using a tracker that I created which was inspired by Evermore Paper Co. Their website is still down, so I am using my version I created for tracking this month. I'm hoping their site will go back up soon, but if you'd like to use mine, just click on the image at the end of this post - to be clear their version was free and this version is free. I will not earn any income from this printable.
Well I think that is everything for today! I hope you have a great month!

Question of the Day: What do you have planned in November?

August: Month @ a Glance {08.01.25}

Friday, August 1, 2025

Hello and happy Friday friends! I hope your week has been wonderful and you are looking forward to a fun weekend ahead. Tonight we're getting together with some friends to see a movie and grab dinner, then the rest of the weekend will be relatively quiet.  It's hard to believe July is already over and we are already into August. I feel like we just started July, yet here I am doing the August post.

ON THE AGENDA THIS MONTH

1. Movies and dinner with friends. Originally I was supposed to go up to Traverse City with some friends this weekend, but due to scheduling conflicts we made the decision to just do something local and see a movie and grab dinner. I'm excited.

2. Brunch + bookstore date. On Sunday, I'm heading to a new brunch spot and bookstore with some girlfriends and I am so excited. I was able to go to a brunch of book stores in Chicago so it will be so exciting to check out another book store.

3. Beetlejuice the Musical. I'm excited to go see Beetlejuice again with my friend. I really enjoyed it the first time we saw it so it will be fun to see it again.

4. Weddings. In August we have 2 weddings which will be very fun. I feel like some years we have a bunch of weddings then others we have none so this year month will be fun.

5. Friend visiting. In a last minute change of events, we have a friend coming to visit us for the weekend which will be fun - it has been quite some time since we saw them so it will be fun to hang out.

6. Book Clubs. This month I have a few book clubs in which I am participating:
  • Fantasy Book Club
  • Mystery/Thriller Book Club
  • Thrills and Chills Book Club
  • Dark Romance Book Club
I am also participating in a buddy ready with my friend too! Check out our Instagram for more information: https://www.instagram.com/p/DMirkBzv8zV

7. Pottery classes. In August, I am doing two pottery-esque classes. One is tile glazing at a local place called Pewabic Pottery and the other is a pottery party with girlfriends. I'm excited to do both with my girlfriends.

GOALS THIS MONTH

1. 30 days of yoga/stretching. I tried (and failed) in July to do yoga or stretching every day for the month but honestly just fell apart about half way through the month.

July: Month @ a Glance {07.01.25}

Tuesday, July 1, 2025

Hello and happy July friends! It's so hard to believe we are already half way through 2025. So far this year, we've had some fun and exciting things that we've done and I've been steadily working on my goals for the year too. This year, July is filled with fun events and I cannot wait to partake in all of them.

ON THE AGENDA THIS MONTH

1. Thrills and Chills Book Club. I am so excited because a fellow YouTuber invited me to participate in a book club that she hosts. In July, we have a reading sprint stream and then a live discussion of the book later this month. If you want to check out her channel, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHDT-7iJdnk

2. Cake Decorating Class. I am so excited because a few friends and I are going to decorate cakes in a class and it will be so fun. I haven't taken a decorating class in SO long and this one looks like it will be so much fun.

3. Sleepover 4th of July weekend. A few of my girlfriends will be coming over 4th of July weekend to do a fort sleepover. The plan is to watch Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, do crafts and eat delicious food together. I am so excited.

4. Book Clubs. In July, I am participating in several book clubs. I'm back to reading a bunch of books this month and it will be so much fun.
  • Thrills and Chills Book Club
  • Cocktail Book Club
  • But Wait There's More
  • Trigger Warnings Book Club
  • Silent Book Club
  • Mystery/Thriller Book Club
  • An ARC from an author for which I previously did an ARC
5. Kalamazoo Weekend with mom. I am excited because mom and I are heading to Kalamazoo for the night so we can spend some time together and attend my cousin's bridal shower. I haven't done a day in Kalamazoo before so it will be so fun.

6. Birthday celebration for a friend. A few of us are taking a Friday off work and spending the day together in Detroit doing all the fun things - brunch, DIA and book stores. It will be so much fun.

7. Lavender Picking with Vicki. Vicki and I have gone lavender picking for the past three years and I am excited we get to go again this summer. I made my first lavender simple syrup with lavender I picked last year and I loved it. I'm excited to make some with fresh lavender.

8. Chicago for the weekend. Vicki and I are heading to Chicago at the end of July and I am excited. We went a few years ago so we wanted to go again. She's in school right now so we decided to take advantage of her breaks between classes. It will be so much fun!

GOALS FOR JULY

1. 5k Training. I signed up to run a 5k with my friend in August and I am starting the Couch to 5k Program this week to get myself ready to run the race later this summer. So my goal is to complete all four weeks of training that I would be doing for the month to prepare.

2. Basement cleanout. Over Memorial Day we started working on cleaning up the basement in order to get it ready for us to move my husband's office and our game room to the basement. My goal for this month is to continue going through everything down there because we've amassed a bunch of junk over the years living at our house and it's time we get things fixed up.

Like previous months I will be using a tracker that I created which was inspired by Evermore Paper Co.. Their website is still down, so I am using my version I created for tracking this month. June: Month @ a Glance {06.02.25}

Monday, June 2, 2025

Hello and happy June friends! I hope you had a wonderful long holiday weekend last weekend and are looking forward to a fun week ahead.  June always brings a lot of fun and excitement and this year is no different. I'm heading on a quick trip out of town later this month and I'm so nervous/excited since I haven't traveled solo in quite some time.

ON THE AGENDA THIS MONTH

1. Brunch with a friend. Yesterday I went to brunch with a friend as a belated birthday gift. We haven't gotten together one on one in a while so it was great to just catch up with each other and spend some much needed quality time.

2. Book Clubs. This month I have signed up for two book clubs: Cocktail Book Club and Fantasy Book Club. For Cocktail, we're reading the book Let's Call Her Barbie by Renee Rosen and I'm also reading The Will of the Many by James Islington. I'm excited because everyone is going to wear pink to the Barbie meeting which will be so much fun.

3. Father's Day Celebrations. I'm not 100% sure what we're doing for Father's day this year, but we will be doing some events with our families. I'm sure Justin will take his dad golfing too. Did you see my gift guide for Father's Day? Make sure to check it out: https://lifewithmejackabee.blogspot.com/2025/06/fathers-day-gift-guide-060125.html

4. The Amazing Readathon - Faceoff Weekend. I am excited because for the second year in a row I am participating in The Amazing Readathon and this year I will actually be around for the Faceoff weekend which will be so fun. I cannot wait to read a bunch of books for the month and have a blast with the readathon.

5. The Wiz. The Wiz is coming to Detroit and I have never seen it before so I am excited I get to see it for the first time with my friend.

6. Florida for a friends baby shower. Towards the end of the month, I am heading to a baby shower in Florida. I haven't seen my friend in a very long time so it will be great to go see her and enjoy some time catching up and celebrating the upcoming arrival of her little one.

GOALS FOR JUNE

1. 5k Training. I signed up to run a 5k with my friend in August and I am starting the Couch to 5k Program this week to get myself ready to run the race later this summer. So my goal is to complete all four weeks of training that I would be doing for the month to prepare.

May: Month @ a Glance {05.01.25}

Thursday, May 1, 2025

Hello and happy May friends! I hope your month is off to a great start.  This month is filled with birthdays, brunches and Mother's Day.  Before we get going... sorry I accidentally took a month off. I have been dealing with some depression and finally am coming up for air after getting my meds figured out.

ON THE AGENDA THIS MONTH

1. TV & girl time with my girlfriends: Last week a few of my girlfriends came over to watch The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives with me and it was so much fun. If you haven't watched the show and like drama television, definitely check it out. So of course, we need to finish the rest of the first season before the second season comes out in a few weeks.

2. Brunch at an Audrey Hepburn Brunch place: This weekend I'm heading to a local brunch house that is all things Audrey Hepburn. I love getting together with these ladies and have been looking forward to it for a while! If we have time, we are also going to hit a few book stores.

3. Another Simple Favor with my friend: Did you know a second movie is coming out from A Simple Favor? I had no idea but came across it on TikTok of all places.  So this Saturday, my friend is coming over and we're watching the second movie. I really loved the first one so I am excited to see how this one goes.

4. Pottery class: Last week I started a pottery wheel class with my friend and that will continue all through the month of May (and into June). Last week we did our first throws on the wheel and it was interesting. BUT, even though my piece collapsed a bit it still turned out super cool and I'm excited to see what I make next.

5. Book clubs (as always): May is actually a smidge quieter in terms of book clubs - this month I'm doing Fantasy and Dark Romance only with my local indie book store. I am also participating in a few other clubs outside of that and doing a few buddy reads.  So while I'm not necessary doing a lot book clubs, I will be doing a lot of reading.

6. Brunch with the book club girlies: Next weekend a bunch of my book friends are coming over to do brunch at my house. It is the first time we're all getting together to do a brunch and I think it will be so fun!

7. Mother's Day Brunch with our moms: This year we are going back to the Palazzo di Bocce for Mother's Day Brunch and I am excited. The mom's really love going here and it's such a nice restaurant.

8. Game night for my birthday: My birthday falls in the middle of the month and I am excited because we are doing a game night at our house. We haven't had a game night in a very, very, long time so it will be nice to get together with our friends and spend the evening playing games and enjoying each other's company.

9. Basement cleanout: Memorial Day Weekend Justin and I are taking a long weekend to work on our basement. It desperately needs to be cleaned up and organized, plus he wants to move his office down there because his current work space is just too hot for him in the summer time. If we push ourselves hard, we should be able to get the whole thing prepped and ready for him to potentially move down there.

GOALS FOR MAY

1. Finish the library. We started working on the library in January and it has been a very slow moving process. Mostly because budget has been tighter, but also because of time. We've been so busy that it keeps getting pushed back. All of the books have been moved into the room and the shelves are up and set in place, just really need to add the final touches and decor to be done with it.

2. Start the 5k training program. My friend and I are signing up to run a 5k together in August and it's been a while since I really trained for anything, so this month I'm going to start training for the 5k with the Couch to 5k program. I've done it before, so this will be fun.

Like previous months I will be using a tracker that I created which was inspired by Evermore Paper Co.. Their website is still down, so I am using my version I created for tracking this month. I'm hoping their site will go back up soon, but if you'd like to use mine, just click on the image at the end of this post - to be clear their version was free and this version is free. Well I think that is everything for today! I hope you have a great month!

March: Month @ a Glance {03.01.25}

Saturday, March 1, 2025

Hello and happy March friends! Per usual, the month got away from me and I'm starting over at the beginning of the next month. March is shaping up to be a super fun month and I cannot wait to do all the exciting things we have planned.

ON THE AGENDA THIS MONTH

1. Donut Shop + Bookstore Date with Vicki: On Saturday, Vicki and I are spending the day checking out a local donut shop and a few of our local book stores. I'm super excited to go and check them all out since I haven't been to them before.

2. Book Clubs: For March, I have a total of five book clubs: ACOPAL, SJM Book Club, Fantasy Book Club, Mystery/Thriller and Dark Romance.  I'm excited for each one of the clubs and it will be so fun. I also am participating in two ARC reviews that will release in March so I'll read those as well.

3. Birthday party for my friend's baby girl: My friends daughter is turning one (HOW?) this month and we were invited to her birthday party so we will be going to celebrate her completing the first year of her life.

4. Birthday Brunch for my friend: I'm excited because a group of us women are going to my favorite restaurant to celebrate my friend's birthday.  It is a group of women from my book clubs so it will be so much fun to go.

5. Third Coast Author and Book Festival: Ironically, the next weekend several of the same women are going to the west side of the state to attend an author and book festival. Over 100 authors will be there selling and signing books and I am so excited to go. I've never been to something like this so it will be so much fun.

6. Ladies Brunch with my girlfriends: At the end of the month, my girlfriends are coming over for our monthly brunch and I always look forward to spending time with the ladies. We don't get a ton of time in person together so it will be fun to catch up.

GOALS FOR MARCH

1. Make progress on the library/guest room. In January we started making changes to the guest bedroom to turn it more into a library than a "guest bedroom".  We have lived in our house for eight years and have not done much with the room so we made the decision to organize the space to a library/guest room.  So far we've got the bookshelves up and the desk ready for use, but we have a few more things we need to get done before the space can be usable.

2. Start an exercise routine. Part of the guest bedroom space is going to include getting my Peloton bike accessible so I can start riding it again. I've been off the exercise train for way too long so I'm looking forward to using my bike again.

3. Make a plan for our finances. Now that Justin is back to working and we have a better understanding of how much we are behind, we have decided to make a plan on how we're going to get our finances put back together and our debt paid off.  Part of that is a meeting with our financial planner on the 17th.

Like previous months I will be using a tracker that I created which was inspired by Evermore Paper Co.. Their website is still down, so I am using my version I created for tracking this month. I'm hoping their site will go back up soon, but if you'd like to use mine, just click on the image at the end of this post - to be clear their version was free and this version is free. February: Month @ a Glance {02.03.25}

Monday, February 3, 2025

Hello and happy February friends! I hope your 2025 is off to an excellent start and you are looking forward to 2025. Obviously, I am a bit late to the game as I am just now doing a post for 2025, but I took January to get myself rested and organized and to be honest, I'm glad I did.  But that being said, we're a few days into February and I thought it would be fun to pick back up this month.

ON THE AGENDA THIS MONTH

1. Cocktail Book Club with my Mama.  My mom and I have been doing a monthly book club where you read the book and a local restaurant makes cocktails themed around the book.  We missed January due to the holiday schedule, but we're picking it back up this month with The Champagne Letters by Kate MacIntosh.  If you read Julie and Julia and liked it, then I'd highly recommend this one too.

2. Coffee shop/book store/cafe visit with friends.  This coming weekend, a few girlfriends and I are going to check out another local indie book store.  We've been checking out a few places around us and I am excited to check this one out.  Without meaning to, I've managed to buy a cat-themed book every time we've gone out so now it's became a bit of a joke but I plan to keep it going.

3. Brunch date with some friends. I've made some really great friends at book club and a few of us are going out to my favorite brunch spot in a few weeks.  I love going to this place and look forward to great food and great company.

4. Galentine's Day with my girlfriends. I'm excited because some of my girlfriends are coming over for a Galentine's Day brunch and we always have so much fun.  We're doing a favorite things gift exchange and I just ordered my gifts today.  I cannot wait.

5. Baby Shower for a friend. My friend's baby shower is this month and I'm excited to celebrate her.  I finished a baby blanket for her this weekend and really loved the pattern.  I'm planning to make another one or two of the blanket just for fun because I loved making it so much.

6. Other book clubs this month. This month I'm signed up for quite a few! I've got fantasy, Sarah J. Maas, mystery/thriller and dark romance.  Plus, I was selected to do some ARC reviews which I'm very excited to read.

GOALS FOR February

1. Start a workout routine.  We've been working hard to get our guest bedroom repurposed to be a more usable space for us and that includes setting my Peloton back up and moving my walking pad upstairs.  The goal is to get it put together so I can start working out in there.

2. Take my vitamins every day this month.  It seems like such a silly thing, but I really need to get better about taking my vitamins every day. So this month I'm working to do that.

Like previous months I will be using a tracker that I created which was inspired by Evermore Paper Co.. Their website is still down, so I am using my version I created for tracking this month. I'm hoping their site will go back up soon, but if you'd like to use mine, just click on the image at the end of this post - to be clear their version was free and this version is free. December: Month @ a Glance {12.01.24}

Sunday, December 1, 2024

Hello and happy December friends! I hope you had a wonderful November and will forgive me for my absence last month.  I'm not exactly sure what happened, but one day I was planning out posts for the whole month, then the next it was November 30th.  I hope you had a wonderful month and are looking for some fun things ahead.  December is always busy for us, but I am looking forward to everything we have planned.

ON THE AGENDA THIS MONTH

1. Cookie baking with mom.  Mom came over today to bake cookies and it was very nice.  We baked chocolate chip, peanut butter and spritz cookies.  It is a bit of an annual tradition so it worked out that we were able to do it today.

2. Les Misérables with mom.  On top of baking cookies today, mom and I are going to see Les Misérables on Thursday.  I have never seen it live so it will be a great time and perfect start to the month of December.

3. Book Clubs this month.  I have a total of six book clubs this month:
a. The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year - Cocktail Book Club
b. Kingdom of Ash - SJM Book Club
c. Silent Book Club monthly meeting
d. A Song to Drown Rivers - Fantasy Book Club
e. A Very Bad Things - Mystery/Thriller Book Club
f. Heartless Hunter - A Court of Pong and Literature Book Club

Honestly, I am not sure why I signed up for so many this month, but I am overall very excited to do them all.  I'm almost done with The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year for tomorrow's meeting and I think it will be fun.

4. Extended family Christmas.  This weekend I am going to my extended family Christmas party with my mom's entire extended family.  I haven't seen some of them in a long time so it will be nice to see them.

5. Friendsmas.  We're also doing our Friendsmas party on Saturday and it will be super fun.  We're going to decorate gingerbread houses, exchange gifts and hopefully play some games.

6. Fantasy Book Club Party.  I'm excited because I was invited to the Fantasy Book Club Holiday party.  It will be a bunch of us fantasy/SJM readers getting together and spending some time together.

7. Birthday party for my friend's kiddo.  My friend's daughter turns 3 this month and I'll be going to her birthday party.  I think it will be a lot of fun - even if to just see how cute the kids are.

8. Christmas with our families.  We always celebrate Christmas with my family on December 23, so we will be going there on that day.  Then we will be celebrating Christmas with his family the Sunday after Christmas.  I love our traditions with our families.

9. Ann Arbor day with friends.  I am excited because towards the end of the month I will be going to Ann Arbor (Michigan) for a day of book store hopping and coffee shops.  It will be such a fun time and I am very much looking forward to going with the ladies.

GOALS FOR DECEMBER

1. Focus on self-care.  I say this every month, but this month especially it will be very important I keep up on my self care.  This includes skin care, drinking water, taking vitamins, etc.  I have been skipping a lot of these and I am suffering for it.

2. Start moving for 30 minutes a day.  Along with self-care, I would like to start moving my body for 30 minutes a day.  I've been scouting out some videos on YouTube that I'd like to try and I think it will help me with #1.

3. Be deliberate with my time with friends/family.  Life is too short to be anything but present and this month I'd like to practice that.

4. Start planning for 2025.  I know it seems so far away, but before we know it we will be staring 2025 down and I'd like to have a decent plan for my year before I actually start my year.

I will not earn any income from this printable.

Well I think that is everything for today! I hope you have a great month!

Question of the Day: What do you have planned in December?

Have a wonderful day,

November: Month @ a Glance {11.02.24}

Thursday, November 7, 2024

Hello and happy November friends! I know we're already a week into November but my schedule has been a bit wild the last week and I'm finally taking a few minutes to get myself together.  This November, like many others, is going to be relatively the same as years passed.  So let's talk about everything we have planned this month.

ON THE AGENDA THIS MONTH

1. Holiday Extravaganza with my friend.  Last night I went to an event at a local Bordine's where there was delicious food, great company and the proceeds benefit a wonderful organization.  It was so great to get out of the house and the event was a lot of fun.

2. Coffee shop/book store/cafe visit with friends.  I am excited because this weekend I am going to check out a local place that is a coffee shop/book store/cafe/bar with some of my friends.  After we check that out, they're all going to come back here and decorate witch hats with me.  We were going to do this a few weeks back, but illness got to some of the ladies and we rescheduled until this weekend.

3. Book Clubs in November.  In November, I somehow managed to sign up for four book clubs (because why not stress myself out a ton) and also signed up to go to a book signing with an author.

4. Celebrating my step-dad's birthday.  His birthday is coming up and I believe the family is getting together to celebrate since it's a big birthday for him.

5. Seeing Mean Girls with my friendMean Girls came to my area a little while ago but I was not able to go so I am excited I get to see it this time while it's in town.  I've heard so many wonderful things about the show.

6. Friendsgiving.  We will be getting together with our friends for our annual Friendsgiving potluck and I'm excited.  I love this tradition and look forward to it every year.

7. Thanksgiving festivities.  We will be celebrating Thanksgiving with both families this year - one on the actual day and the other the following Saturday.

GOALS FOR NOVEMBER

1. Focus on self-care.  We've had a lot of stress the last month or so, so it will be very important for me to do what I can to focus on mental and emotional health.  My main thing is making sure I take my vitamins and drinking enough water.

Normally I would add more to this, but my only goal for this month is going to be to take care of myself.

I will not earn any income from this printable.

Well I think that is everything for today! I hope you have a great month!

October: Month @ a Glance {10.02.24}

Wednesday, October 2, 2024

Hello and happy October friends! I'm so glad this week is already half over and we only have plans one of the two days this weekend.  October is shaping up to be a fun month between celebrating Halloween and our anniversary.

ON THE AGENDA THIS MONTH

1. Cutting board making class.  Justin and I took a woodworking safety class earlier this year and we were finally able to get into one of the classes where we will learn how to make cutting boards.  I'm hoping they turn out nicely and we can potentially use them as Christmas gifts for family/friends.

2. Going to my niece's cheer game.  My niece is a cheerleader and one of her biggest nights is coming up so we will going to watch her cheer.

3. Apple picking with friends.  I am very much looking forward to apple picking with my friends.  We've gone apple picking every year for over a decade so I am looking forward to going this year.

4. Local book store/cafe and witchy hat decorating.  I'm excited because I am getting together with some friends to go to a local bookstore/bar/cafe and after we go there we will be getting together to decorate witch hats together.

5. Witchy book club.  It works out perfectly that we're decorating hats because less than a week later I'm going to a witchy book club and I'm excited.  I'm putting together the cutest little outfit for the day and it will be so much fun.

6. MJ the Musical.  I am going to MJ the Musical with my coworker later this month and I am excited.  I had a great time the last time we went to a show together so this will be great.

GOALS FOR OCTOBER

1. Read at least three books.  In October I have two book clubs this month so my plan is to read those books and potentially another one to two.

2. Focus on self-care. The last few months have been stressful to say the least to I really need to work on taking better care of myself.  This will include drinking more water, skin care/teeth care and taking my vitamins daily.

3. Move my body. As the weather starts cooling down, I would like to get out and go for walks more or do yoga or something outside. With hubby having a little more free time I'm hoping we can do this together.

September: Month @ a Glance {09.01.24}

Sunday, September 1, 2024

Hello and happy September friends! I hope you are enjoying a wonderful and long weekend (for my US friends) and have gotten some much needed R & R.  September is shaping  up to be a quieter month which I am so excited about.  The last few months have been absolutely crazy and we are needing a bit of a break to slow down and catch up on a few things around the house.

ON THE AGENDA THIS MONTH

1. Quick Labor Day trip. Justin and I haven't been up to his parents cabin in quite a long time so it will be great to get away for a quick trip to the cabin.  I'm also excited because I am taking my paddle board up to use on the lake.

2. Wedding for our friends. Our neighbor (and friend) is getting married in September and were invited to celebrate them both.  We haven't been a wedding a while so it will be fun to celebrate them.

3. Another cooking class with Shannon and Trista. After we enjoyed making macarons in early August, we decided to sign up for another class where we will be making a taste of Italy.  I love making pasta so this will be quite fun.

4. Grown up book fair with my reading friends. I'm excited because I am going to a grown up book fair with a few of my reading friends and I haven't been to a book fair as an adult.  I'm not really sure what to expect, but I imagine it will be a lot of fun.

5. Five book clubs at Inscribe Books + our monthly Silent Book Club meeting.  This month I have signed up for a total of five book clubs.  I don't usually do that many in a months time, but all of the books sounded sooo good that I could not pass.  On top of that, I also have my September Silent Book Club meeting.  So I'll be at a total of six book clubs this month.

6. Ladies retreat with my mom.  Every fall, mom and I go to a ladies retreat in northern Michigan and this year is no different.  I am looking forward to going to the retreat with my mom - it is always a nice get away for the two of us.

7. Pinch pot clay art class. One of the goals I gave myself for 35 things for 35 was to try something new, so I signed up for a pinch pot clay art class and we will be making pumpkins which will be perfect for Fall.

8. Brunch with my girlfriends.  As is the standard for every month, I am having  my girlfriends over for brunch at the end  of the month. I am excited because I am planning to make a fall sangria and maybe do a caramel apple charcuterie board.

GOALS FOR SEPTEMBER

1. Read all books for book club.  I usually give myself a goal to read three books a month but considering I have five books to read for book club I am making my goal to finish all book club books this month.

2. Focus on self-care. August I got rather nonchalant about my self-care and I am suffering for it now.  My goal is to consume 80+ oz of water a day, take my vitamins and do thorough skin and teeth care every day in September.

3. Move my body. As the weather starts cooling  down, I would like to get out and go for walks more or do yoga or something outside. We've had do much stress lately that I really need to get back into the habit of movement every day.

I will not earn any income from this printable.

August: Month @ a Glance {08.01.24}

Thursday, August 1, 2024

Hello and happy August friends! It's hard to believe July has already came and went.  It feels like I just did this post for July, yet here I am talking about August.  August is shaping up to be a busy, but fun month.  It's strange that summer feels like it's almost over, but I feel like that's how it usually goes every summer in Michigan.

On the Agenda this Month:

1. Morgantown, West Virginia. We're making a trip to Morgantown for the weekend for our third visit to the Keyboard Meetup.  We started attending events a few years ago and it has been a lot of fun going and connecting with new people.

2. Four book clubs.  Because I love challenging myself by signing up for several book clubs a month.  This month I'll be going to one book club a week which is nice because it breaks up my reading instead of cramming a few weeks into one week.

3. SUP yoga with a friend. I did SUP yoga with my friend a few times and we're going back again to do another round of yoga.  I am excited to go and challenge myself again.

4. Learn to make macarons. A few girlfriends and I are heading to Sur la Table to take a macaron making class.  I've never attempted to make macarons before so this will be a lot of fun to do with them.

5. Celebrate my niece's second birthday. Right now the tentative plan is to celebrate her birthday by going to a cat cafe to visit with kitties and have a coffee.  After that we will go out to dinner.

6. Pedicures with my friend. My friend and I go together almost every month to get our feet right and it's so nice.

7. High tea with my friends. I am excited because a few of us are going to a high tea and this will be our third time going together.  I am excited to go with them!

8. Brunch with the girls. A few of us are going to brunch at the end of the month to my favorite restaurant.  I love going to The Fed and look forward to the time with my friends.

9. Baby shower for a friend.  My friend is having a baby girl in the near future so I will be going to a little shower for her and her husband.  Speaking of which... I need to get her a gift.

Goals for August

August is going to be busy but fun so why not keep up the trend of goals.

1. Drink 80+oz of water a day.  The last two weeks I've managed to get 80oz or very close to 80oz of water in every day which is great.

2. Take my vitamins daily.  Like my water, I've been on my vitamin grind too! I always feel so much better when I take my vitamins so I'm going to keep going with that.

3. 100 Miles, 100 days.  June was rough with the miles so I am going to have to double up some days this month to catch up.  If you want to join in the fun check out my InstagramFacebook Page or Google Group

4. Finish three books. I've been reading so much this year that it feels right to make this month's reading goal of three books.  I should be able to accomplish this easily as I signed up for four book clubs.

I will not earn any income from this printable.

Monday, July 1, 2024

Hello and happy July friends! I hope you had a wonderful June and are looking forward to fun July.  We will be spending time with family and friends all month and enjoying the summer weather as much as possible.

On the Agenda this Month:

1. Hocking Hills for the 4th. We're heading out of town for the weekend to celebrate the holiday with my family.  I am excited to try a new place and do some exploring.

2. Participate in a few readathons. Last month I participated in The Amazing Readathon and had so much fun so this month I am doing a few smaller/less intense readathons as well.  You can check them out on my Bookstagram: https://www.instagram.com/readwithmejackabee/.

3. Mother/Daughter tea party.  My friend and I are hosting a tea party for our other friends with little girls.  We've been talking about hosting a party for the mamas and their littles and it will be so fun to get together with them.

4. Book club - Assassin's Blade. My next book in the Throne of Glass series book club is Assassin's Blade.  I'm excited to read the book and keep moving through the stories.

5. Silent Book Club. We will be meeting for our 5th meeting in July and I'm excited.  I think we finally found a good cadence and we've even had our first ad hoc meeting.  I'm hoping to do random last minute meetups every month too to allow people to have a few options.

6. Lavender Festival with Vicki. For the third year in a row Vicki and I are going to pick lavender.  I'm excited because we're going to try a new place this year and I think it will be a lot of fun.

7. Ladies Brunch. The day after picking lavender the ladies are coming over for brunch.  I'm excited to get together with the girls.

8. Learn to Paint like Bob Ross Class. I randomly signed up for an art class where I will learn to paint like Bob Ross.  I've been wanting to take this class for a while so I'm glad my schedule lined up for me to do the event through my local township.

9. Two more book clubs - because why not? I also signed up for the fantasy and thriller/mystery book clubs too which will take place at the end of the month.

Goals for July

July is going to be busy but fun so why not keep up the trend of goals.

1. Drink 80+oz of water a day.  I know I'm a broken record, but here I am staying I want to drink 80oz of water a day again.  Anyone want to help me stay accountable this month?

2. Take my vitamins daily.  I really need to get back on my game and

3. 100 Miles, 100 days.  June was rough with the miles so I am going to have to double up some days this month to catch up.  If you want to join in the fun check out my InstagramFacebook Page or Google Group

4. Finish three books. I've been reading so much this year that it feels right to make this month's reading goal of three books.  I should be able to accomplish this easily as I signed up for three book clubs.
