Happy Wednesday and happy first day of Fall everyone! Fall is my absolute favorite season - especially living in Michigan. It's when we start to cool off and all the colors start coming out and everything is so beautiful.
Today I wanted to talk about the 10 Things I Love About Fall. I thought it would be a fun little post to celebrate the changing of the seasons from Summer to Fall. So without further adieux, here's my favorite things about Fall.
1. The beautiful colors. Michigan (and the mid-coast/east-coast) are notorious for having beautiful falls with all of the changing leaves. I especially love the way things almost seem to be on fire between the red, yellows and oranges of the leaves. I specifically planted burning bushes in our garden because every Fall they change to the most beautiful shade of red.
2. The crisp, cool air. I am not a huge fan of the heat, and while I love how beautiful and sunny the Summer is, I love when the air starts to cool off and we get to experience the crispness that comes with Fall.
3. Fall wardrobes. There is something so special about all the fun layering and colors that come out when the weather starts to get cooler. I love being able to pull out my knee high boots and leggings with a chunky scarf and cardigan or plaid shirt. I know, I'm basic but I love it.
4. Cider and donuts. I'm not sure if this happens everywhere, but in Michigan, Fall means cider mills and fresh cider and donuts. We have quite a few cider mills in the area, but my absolute favorite is Yates. There is just something so special about their donuts.
5. Pumpkin spice everything. I didn't jump on the pumpkin spice bandwagon until a few years ago, but once I was on, I never got off. I look forward to the Pumpkin Spice Latte coming out every year and drink it as long as I can (or until my favorite holiday drinks come out).
6. All the fun holidays - Halloween and Thanksgiving. Christmas will always be my favorite holiday (because it is just so magical) but I really do love celebrating Halloween and Thanksgiving. I love that these holidays bring everyone together without the expectation of gifts being given.
7. Fall decorations. I really need to do a post of all of the Fall decorations that I have because I just love to decorate for Fall. Maybe I'll do a little post of all the fun things you can get this season to decorate your house for fall too.
8. Apple orchards and pumpkin patches. Another big thing in the Fall is going out to pick your own apples and pumpkins. If you've been around for a while, you will remember that we go apple picking every year with our friends and this year will be no different than years past. The only difference is we will be going later than normal in October instead of September.
9. The beginning of snuggle season. There is something so magical grabbing a hot mug of your favorite beverage and grabbing a warm blanket and snuggling up to read a good book and Fall is the beginning of the best snuggle weather of the year.
10. Food options are amazing. Fall represents the beginning of delicious baked goods and squashes. I love when Fall comes because a lot of my favorite foods come back in season.
