What's Up Wednesday {06.23.2021}

Welcome to another round of What's Up Wednesday Post! Back when I was much better about keeping a regular schedule, this was one of my favorite series that I did so I thought it would be fun to bring it back to the blog.  I am hoping that this becomes a regular post and you all enjoy reading them as I go along.

I'm linking up with Shay and Shaeffer to share what's been going on with us lately!

1. WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK

Monday we ordered mostaccioli, Tuesday we took dinner to his mom so we let her pick whatever she wanted, today we're having quesadillas, Thursday we are going to likely eat dinner at the hotel then Friday/Saturday will be whatever the bride and groom provide for their guests.

2. WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT

While I was writing my matron of honor speech, I took a lot of time thinking about my friendship with Sarah over the last almost 18 years.  It is SO crazy to me that I have friends that were started in the early 2000's.  It's also crazy to me that anyone born in the 1900's is guaranteed to be over 21.  I feel a little old because of that.

3. WHAT I'M LOVING

My in-laws opened their pool last weekend and I loved getting into the water even if it was rather chilly.  I have been trying to get outside more and I LOVE to swim.  I'm hoping to get over there over 4th of July weekend.  If not, I'm going to be heading there during the week because I love the water.  If we could have a house on the lake I would be a happy lady.

4. WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO

Honestly, the last few months have been pure chaos.  We celebrated our friends/family with bridal showers, bachelorette parties, weddings.  We also mourned the loss of my friend's mom.  We worked our way through some financial planning and goal setting and started talking about what the next five years would look like (roughly because no one knows what tomorrow holds).

5. WHAT I'M DREADING

I am dreading packing for this trip! I tend to over pack for trips, but this one there are certain things that I absolutely cannot forget (like my bridesmaid dress/shoes) so I am dreading packing.  But thankfully I started putting the essential things in my suitcase last week as I thought of them so I couldn't forget them.

6. WHAT I'M WORKING ON

I mentioned last month that I was trying to knit myself a sweater and I'll be honest, the yarn just did not work at all.  I ended up taking all of the yarn back and going to completely different direction.  I ended up starting a baby blanket for a friend that is due in December.  I came across this pattern and I am really liking how it is coming together.

7. WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT

I'm excited to visit a new state and see my friend marry the  man of her dreams.  It has been a long time coming and she is going to make the most beautiful bride.  I just hope I don't cry through my entire speech!

8. WHAT I'M WATCHING/READING

The Shadow and Bone Series! We started watching the series late last month on Netflix.  Then when I found out it's actually a book series, I went ahead and bought the first book.  I loved the first book so much, I ended up buying the whole series.

9. WHAT I'M LISTENING TO

Right now I've been listening mostly to Spotify - specifically the Pop Party playlist.  It's a playlist that includes a lot of what's currently popular, but also has some popular songs from years past.  I am loving it because it keeps me in the loop to what new songs are coming out, but also lets me enjoy some of my favorite songs.

10. WHAT I'M WEARING

I just bought some bike shorts off Amazon.  With the weather getting warm, I tend to migrate to shorts in the summer, but I don't always want jean shorts, so my friend recommended these shorts.  I am excited because I got some solid black, some speckled and some camouflaged shorts.  I'm hoping they fit well and I can take them on my trip to Montana and subsequently wear them all summer long!

11. WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND

We are leaving for Montana tomorrow to go to my best friend's wedding.  We have never been to Montana so I am excited to get the opportunity to go visit a new state AND watch my best friend marry the man of her dreams.  It's going to be so nice while we're there too.  Fingers crossed the weather holds through Saturday.

12. WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH

July is shaping up to be fun.  We have 2 weddings, 2 family picnics and we're heading to Mackinac Island with our friends one of the Saturday's.  I am excited for just doing some fun things for ourselves versus the last few months which have been focused on other people.  We're also going to find a weekend where we can get through our basement because it is a BIG mess.

Well that's everything for today, I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week and are looking forward to a long weekend!
