January: Month @ a Glance {01.01.2022}

Hello and happy 2022 everyone! Welcome to the first day of the new year and it's crazy to think that we are done with 2021.  Today I am going to do another round of month @ a glance.  January is usually a quiet month for us and this year will be no different than previous years.

On the Agenda this Month:

1. Christmas with Justin's family.  We always celebrate Christmas with his family the weekend after Christmas, so we're heading over there today to do our family meal and gift exchange.  We also are playing the present game (where you wrap a bunch of goodies in saran wrap and roll dice to determine who gets to unwrap) and I'm excited about all of the items we bought for our gift.

2. Birthday game night for Justin.  I'm planning a small game night with our friends to celebrate Justin's birthday.  Every year we do a small thing with our friends to celebrate him.

3. Birthday celebration with our families.  I still need to plan this but we're going to celebrate Justin's birthday with our families as well.  I'm hoping to get everything planned between today/tomorrow.

4. Friends visit.  Our friends are coming in from New York to visit over MLK, Jr. weekend.  They were originally supposed to be coming between Christmas and New Years, but had to reschedule.  I'm excited for them to come in and visit.  I'm hoping the weather is nice and we can maybe do some fun outdoor activities.

5. Facials with mom.  For Christmas, my mom got my a facial at our local spa and we're planning to go together.  I'm excited because my skin has been horrible lately.

6. Hairspray and The Lion King.  I am so excited because in January I get to see Hairspray for the first time and The Lion King for the second time.  We are planning to go down for the night to see them and I couldn't be more excited.

Goals for January

1. Read three books: Ideally I'd like to read more than three, but we will see how the month goes!

2. Finish cleaning out the basement.  We made a TON of progress in our basement over the last few months to the point that we are almost done with organizing/cleaning it up.  There are a few areas which still need a little bit more work, but I do not think it will take too much work to finish it up.  The goal is to get that finished in January.

3. Order tile for the backsplash.  I have had finishing our backsplash on my list for over 18 months now so I am going to put it on my list to just go ahead and finally order the backsplash for our kitchen.  At least if I have the tile, I don't have to worry about it going out of stock or not being able to purchase it.

Well I think that is everything for today! I hope your year is off to a great start.

Question of the Day: What do you have planned in January?
