Alphabetical Advice {11.04.22}

Happy Friday friends! I hope you've had a wonderful week and are looking forward to the weekend.  I'll be heading to brunch with a friend on Sunday, but otherwise I don't have any plans for the weekend.  I'm sure I'll be cleaning/doing chores but otherwise we will be relaxing which is so nice.
For today's post I thought it would be fun to do an alphabetical advice post.  The whole idea is to share advice based on all of the different letters of the alphabet and I thought it was a fun idea! I'm sure I'll struggle/need to get a little creative with some of the letters, but either way it will be fun!

Alphabetical Advice

Allow yourself to feel joy.

Be unapologetically yourself.

Celebrate everything.  Celebrate the big things and the small things.  Sometimes the small things are more important than the big things.  Either way, celebrate them.

Drink your water you jerk.  Kay thanks.

Everyone is not your friend, and that's okay.

Feed yourself.  Seems simple, but it's easy to not feed our bodies what they need - this also includes feeding your soul friend.

Give grace.  To others and, more importantly, to yourself.

Have dessert first.  Sometimes switching things up is a good thing.  This can be putting your pants on with the other leg first or even switching up your whole routine for a day.  Sometimes shocking the system is not a bad thing.

Innovate.  Be creative - even if it's just for 5 minutes a day.  That 5 minutes to open your brain up for a ton of other amazing ideas.

Just do the darn thing.  Been putting a chore off? Just do that.  But avoiding a hard conversation? Just have it.  It's likely you are spending more time worrying about that thing or avoiding it and you could be done with it in 10 minutes or less.

Kick negativity to the curb.

Life is short, don't get too bogged down in the future.

Mean what you say and say what you mean.  A very awesome person once told me "Clear is kind.  Unclear is unkink."  Don't pussyfoot  around things - be direct and be clear.  It leads to growth (even if that growth is a bit painful at times).

No is a full sentence.  You do not need to justify yourself when you say no and owe no one else an explanation.

Others opinions of you are none of your business.  Just because someone doesn't like you, does not mean their opinion matters.

Prioritize your health - physical, mental, emotional.  Your health is very important - without it you cannot love others or yourself properly.

Questions.  Ask them. Answer them. Take time to ask questions to understand and relate to others.

Spend time with the quiet.  When life feels overwhelming, take a step back and sit in the quiet.  Pray, meditate or just be.  Whatever it is, slow down long enough to feel your body and soul speak.  Then you will know what you need.

Timers.  Use them, set them, follow them and move on.  Don't have a lot of time to clean, but need to get things done? Set a timer for 15 minutes and do what you can.  Taking things in 15 minute chunks allows you to not feel like you're drowning.

Understanding is key.  Sometimes people with not behave how you expect of them.  That being said, sometimes taking time to understand people leads to growth in your relationship.  Try to understand their perspective and you may be surprised.

Vacations.  Plan them, go on them and start planning your next one as soon as you get back.  Having a trip planned gives you something to anticipate and they are always so exciting.

Wallow in self-pity when necessary.  Just don't allow yourself to stay there.  It's important to give time to big emotions, but don't allow them to consumer your life.

X-factor.  And no I don't mean the show.  Strive for the x-factor.  Make yourself stand out.

You matter.  A whole lot, my friend.

Zig and zag.  Life will throw you curve balls - zig and zag until you get back on track.
