Today we're talking about the books I read in April. I finished a total of three books and started two more.
If you want to get any of these books for yourself, click on the picture or the name of the book below and it will take you to Amazon where you can buy the book for yourself. Heads up: I am an Amazon Associate so if you purchase with my link I could make a small commission.
So without further adieu...here's my April book review.
Book #1 this month was:
All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham
One year ago, Isabelle Drake's life changed forever: her toddler son, Mason, was taken out of his crib in the middle of the night while she and her husband were asleep in the next room. With little evidence and few leads for the police to chase, the case quickly went cold. However, Isabelle cannot rest until Mason is returned to her―literally.
Except for the occasional catnap or small blackout where she loses track of time, she hasn’t slept in a year.
Isabelle's entire existence now revolves around finding him, but she knows she can’t go on this way forever. In hopes of jarring loose a new witness or buried clue, she agrees to be interviewed by a true-crime podcaster―but his interest in Isabelle's past makes her nervous. His incessant questioning paired with her severe insomnia has brought up uncomfortable memories from her own childhood, making Isabelle start to doubt her recollection of the night of Mason’s disappearance, as well as second-guess who she can trust... including herself. But she is determined to figure out the truth no matter where it leads.
This book was recommended to my by a friend and it happened to be on Kindle Unlimited so it was an easy decision to add it to my list for the month. Overall, I gave this book a 4-star rating. It was an interesting story and the ending was definitely a surprise, but it felt a bit slow at times to me. All that being said, I would definitely recommend this book if you're looking for a good mystery book.
Book #2:
Ask for Andrea by Noelle W. Ihli
Meghan, Brecia, and Skye have just one thing in common. They were all murdered by the same man.
He hunted them online, masquerading as an eligible bachelor. Then he played the perfect gentleman, a thick layer of charm and a thousand-watt smile hiding the fact that his first dates end in shallow graves.
He’s gotten away with murder three times now.
The only thing that might keep him from killing again? The women he murdered.
Meghan, Brecia, and Skye might be dead, but they’re not gone. They’ve found each other. And they won’t rest until they find a way to stop him.
The haunt is on.
I absolutely flew through this book. I went in completely blind and had no idea what to expect but was sucked into the book within the first ten pages. This book got a five-rating from me and is one that I will likely read again in the future.
Book #3:
Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.
But now the phenomenally huge hit true crime podcast "Listen for the Lie," and its too-good looking host Ben Owens, have decided to investigate Savvy’s murder for the show’s second season. Lucy is forced to return to the place she vowed never to set foot in again to solve her friend’s murder, even if she is the one that did it.
The truth is out there, if we just listen.
This read was my April book club pick and just like Ask for Andrea this book was so good. I spent the entire book trying to figure out if Lucy actually committed murder or if something else happened. The story was very engaging and keep my attention. Definitely recommend this one.
I hope you found something today to read this next month. Don’t forget…

Okay what should I read next? I'm always on the hunt for book recommendations and am fairly open to all stories.
Have a wonderful day,
