Hello and happy Thursday friends! I hope your week is going well and you're looking forward to a fun weekend ahead. For today's post, I am actually starting a new series called "Things I cannot live without". Every month, I will share things I cannot live without based on the current category. Reading has quickly become my favorite hobby and so it made sense that I would start with sharing reading accessories that I cannot live without.
Before we get started, I am going to share some affiliate links below. That means if you click on the link and make a purchase, I could make a small commission off of your purchase. As always, I appreciate your support.
So here are my favorite reading accessories that I use regularly:
1. Kindle/Kindle Paperwhite: Depending on what size you want for the Kindle, both the regular Kindle ($109.99) and Kindle Paperwhite ($159.99) are great options for e-readers.
2. Kindle Stand: I actually have two tablet stands and both are used regularly. I have one on my side of the bed so I can read while I'm going to sleep and I keep one downstairs for when I want to read while on my walking pad. Get your own stand here: https://amzn.to/45rlWLe for $35
3. Page turner: This one is potentially a bit silly, but I have a Kindle page turner/clicker and it's amazing. It allows me to keep the Kindle further from my face and helps keep my wrists from getting beat up holding the Kindle. This is the exact page turner I have: https://amzn.to/4mGdrmz ; however, you can get them for cheaper than the $34 I paid.
5. Kindle strap: For when I am not using my stand, I have a Kindle strap that I really love. I know some people will use Pop Sockets as well, but I prefer the stability of the strap. My recommendation would be to try a few different options to see what works for you specifically. My Kindle strap is $6.95 on Amazon: https://amzn.to/4loz8Xe.
6. Reading Journal: While I am terrible about writing in it, I really do love my reading journal. It's a great way to keep track of what you read and keep your thoughts in one single location. Of all the journals I've seen, I really like this one: https://amzn.to/45McYcG for $23. However, there are so many cute options out there so find what works for you.
7. Owala water bottle: I think it kind of goes without saying, but you should definitely be drinking plenty of water (even when you're not reading). If I am not using my Stanley, I have an Owala that I really love. Again, this is up to you to find what works best for you.
6. Book darts: Want to keep track of key things in your book but don't want to mark up your book? Book darts are a perfect alternative. These book darts are $11.95, but there are other options out there that would work just as well. Personally, I like the look of these ones the best.
7. Cozy blanket: I 100% cannot read a book if I am not cozy, so it's always a good idea to have a cozy blanket. Right now, my favorite blanket is this one: https://amzn.to/4fJPQz1. It is the perfect blend of soft and warm without being too warm. Plus, it's large enough to share.
8. Variety of book marks: I don't have any links for this one, but I consistently have 20-30 book marks to choose from (a lot from local stores) which is great when I don't have one and just need a quick marker for my page.
9. Reading light for when it's dark in my room: I received this neck light as a gift from my friend for my birthday and I love it. It's perfect for when I get in bed at night and am not planning to read on my Kindle.
Well that is all of my favorite reading accessories. I'm sure I have forgotten one or two that I may come back and add later. What do you use when you're reading? I'm always looking for new accessories to add to my list!
Until next time,
Jackie
