A Quarter Into 2026: My Realistic Goals for the Year

Wednesday, March 25, 2026

There’s something about hitting March that makes me pause and reflect. I'm having a hard time believing that we are a third of the way done with this year, but here we are officially in Spring and heading into a new season.

The pressure of January is gone, the “new year, new me” energy has settled, and real life has fully kicked back in. And honestly? I like setting goals now so much more.

This year, instead of overwhelming myself with huge expectations, I’m focusing on building a life that feels good day-to-day—one small habit at a time.

Here’s what I’m working toward for the rest of 2026:

🌿 Creating a Home I Love

This year, I’m focusing less on perfection and more on consistency.

I’ve been working on a simple cleaning routine (5 daily tasks + weekly zones), and my goal is to actually stick with it. I also want to slowly declutter my space—nothing extreme, just one area at a time.

More than anything, I want my home to feel cozy, calm, and lived in.

💻 Showing Up for My Blog

I really want to take my blog more seriously this year—but in a way that still feels fun. I gave myself a challenge to post every day in March and I'm doing very well so far. I missed a few days, but thankfully those posts are drafted and just need publishing.

My goals are to:

  • Post consistently (even when it’s not perfect)
  • Share more real-life content
  • Connect more with readers

I’m letting go of the idea that everything has to be polished and focusing more on just showing up.

💌 Start my small business

This is something I’m really excited about this year. I’m working toward officially launching a small business and building a small, supportive community around it. There’s something so special about sending and receiving real mail, and I want to lean into that. Be sure to check out my Instagram and over here on the blog with updates. It's not launching until the fall, but I am planning to announce more around my birthday.

📚 Slowing Down & Being More Present

This year, I want to consume less and enjoy more.

That looks like:

  • Reading more books
  • Spending less time scrolling
  • Taking quiet moments where I can

Nothing extreme—just small shifts that add up over time.

💸 Living More Intentionally

I’m trying to be more thoughtful with how I spend—choosing things I truly love instead of impulse buys.

It’s not about restriction, just being more aware and intentional. We have been working toward paying off debt and have been doing things to make it easier on ourselves. The first quarter of this year, we actually have paid off five small debts and are working towards tackling the bigger ones. I am also intending to pay off at least one of the "bigger" cards by the end of the year.

💛 Taking Care of Myself (Gently)

Instead of big, unrealistic routines, I’m focusing on simple things:

  • Moving my body a few times a week
  • Drinking at least 80oz of water a day
  • Letting myself rest without guilt

✨ Final Thoughts

I’m not chasing perfection this year. I’m choosing consistency, comfort, and small progress. And honestly? That feels like enough.

What are your goals for the year? How are you doing with them?

Have a wonderful day,
Jackie
