Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful day so far and are enjoying your second day of this work week. My birthday is this week so I am looking forward to enjoying a fun end to the week with a day off and a game night with some of my closest friends!
Today I wanted to share with you a little bit about a read-a-thon I am participating in right now! I am excited because this is my first read-a-thon I've done where I actually can participate actively!
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 8th and runs through Sunday, May 14th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 19 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team
My Goals for this Challenge
So unlike other people, I do not have a specific plan for this challenge other than to read as many books as possible! So to start, I am reading The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. My mom loaned me this book a long time ago, so I thought it was about time to pick it up and give it a try {especially since it is out of my normal genre pick}.
I also am planning to participate in the Daily Challenges, as well as the Twitter Chats! I had a blast participating in the one last night and look forward to another one this coming Saturday morning! If you want to follow, check out my twitter: @RunwithJackabee or follow along to the hashtag #boutofbooks to see all of the participants!

Question of the Day: What book have you read recently?
I'd love to hear from you!

Coolness! Have fun reading. I'm in this too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! How many books have you read so far? I think I'll be only finishing one book, but I'm okay with that :)
DeleteI only had the goal to read as many Galley copies that I've got whose time limits are running out - so I'm kinda like you, no specific goals. Looks you're doing well! I've got The Secret Life of Bees to read somewhere, but I don't think I'll make it this week. I've done some of the challenges, but not all. And no Twitter chats as I'm not on Twitter :( I don't want ANOTHER social media site to be hooked to, but I feel like I'm missing out on a lot. What kind of things are you talking about? Keep it going! One book is absolutely fine - people have lots of different priorities/amounts of free time in their lives, and sometimes it's nice to read more slowly. I think I've done the opposite - I've ploughed through some books that I wish I'd given a bit longer... Maybe I'll just have to reread. Oh, what a trial :P
