Fall Bucket List 2024 {09.09.24}

Hello and happy Monday friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and your week is off to a wonderful start.  I thought today I would share the bucket list I put together for us for this Fall.  Fall is my absolute favorite season and I look forward to the weather getting cooler and all the fun and festive things we do this time of year.

So let's get to it!

1. Drink a fall bevy. This one is fairly easy for me since I am an avid pumpkin spice latte drinker. But I was thinking for this year it would be good to try a few new drink recipes outside of pumpkin spice latte and have started putting together a few drinks I'd like to try over the next few months.

2. Take a scenic drive. The leaves are already starting to slowly turn in Michigan (a little early in my opinion), but I really want to make it a point to head out and actually enjoy the beauty that is fall.

3. Make soup from scratch. We both really like soup so I'm excited to try a few new soup recipes this fall. We have a few potato soups that we like, but I'm thinking it could be fun to try soups that we may not have normally tried.

4. Go to a pumpkin patch. I went to a pumpkin patch a few years ago with my friends so I'd really like to go and pick a few pumpkins this year.  I'm hoping Justin will just go with me to pick them.

5. Admire the leaves. This can be done at the same time as the scenic drive or I can just admire the ones in our back yard.  I love how beautiful this time of year is and have been debating making decor with some leaves from our back yard.

6. Burn fall candles. Do you prefer pumpkin or apple scents for fall? My favorite fall candle is from Antique Candle Co. and it's the pumpkin spice scent.  It's not too strong but it just makes me so happy in fall.

7. Pick apples with friends. We do this every year and this year will be no different.  We're going the first weekend in October with a few of our friends.

8. Bake a fall pie. Every year I bake pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving but this year I want to try something new from a pie flavor.  I'm thinking fig or something I've never cooked with before.

9. Carve a pumpkin. We were just chatting about this on Saturday, but I think we're going to get some fake pumpkins and either paint them or carve them that way they won't go bad and we can keep them for many years to come.

10. Cozy up with a good book. You can do this anytime in the year, but there is something just so special about cozying up with a blanket, warm drink and a book.  It's even better if you can sit outside and cozy up.

11. Decorate for fall. Surprisingly, I haven't decorated for fall yet. I really need to go through my boxes to see what all I have and potentially slim down on a few things because fall and Halloween have quite a bit of decor options.  I'm a sucker for a cute pumpkin.

12. Cozy up by the fire. I'm thinking it would be fun to have a fire going outside during a fall party but I also wouldn't mind just running a fire and enjoying the cooler weather outside without getting eating alive by mosquitoes.

Well that's all I put together for our fall bucket list.  I'm sure we will get to the cider mill and get cider and donuts at some point, and maybe do a few other fun fall things but I'm going to focus mostly on these.

Question of the Day:
Do you have a fall bucket list?

Until next time,
Jackie
