June: Month @ a Glance

Happy first day of June everyone and happy Monday! I love when a new month starts on a Monday - it just makes the month feel so much more organized.  Am I the only one that feels that way?

Normally June is more of a chaotic month between Father's Day and birthdays but with COVID-19 this year will look a bit different for us.  This year will look quite a bit different because we will be home for my birthday.  We're working through some fun and safe options for us to celebrate loved ones.

So let's talk a little bit about the month of June and the fun things we're going to try and do this month despite being home for the foreseeable future.

On the Agenda this Month:

1. Virtual Shower for my Cousin.  So ironically, we have a baby shower scheduled for my cousin this coming Sunday; however, she had the baby this past weekend! So it's more of a "welcome to the world" party.  Hopefully mama is up to "seeing" us all, if not I'm sure we will reschedule.

2. Strawberry Picking.  For the last 9 or so years, we have gone strawberry picking with Justin's family for my mother-in-laws birthday and I'm hoping we get to do that again this year.  We didn't get to go last year because his mom had to go out of town so I'm excited we get the chance to go again this year.

3. Father's Day Celebrations. Right now we are trying to come up with some fun ways to celebrate our dads this year.  Usually we go to dinner and Justin takes his dad golfing, so I think we're going to do meals at home on decks/patios to make it safe for everyone.  And golfing is open here, so I imagine Justin will still be taking his dad golfing this year.

4. Birthday Celebrations. One of my best friends has a birthday this month so we are hoping to do something fun for her this year.  We will see what ends up being planned; otherwise we will just be doing some small outdoor get togethers with friends.

Goals for May:

1. Read Two Books: Last month I challenged myself to two books and I managed to finish ONE.  I'm not sure what is eating all of my time, but finishing the one book was a struggle.  In May, I read Big Little Lies and loved the book.  This month I need to finish A Room with a View and I'd like to read The One Thing as well.  I've been trying to read one fun book and one Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge book at a time just so I'm not feeling overwhelmed.

2. Finish Updating Justin's Office. We are SO close to finishing Justin's office that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.  It's a matter of doing the finishing touches then we can wrap it up.

3. Decorate the Laundry Room. Justin and I finally painted the shelf in our laundry room, so the next step is to get some artwork to hang in there and get the drying rack mounted.  I'm kinda thinking something like this might be cute: wall art.

Question of the Day: What are you doing to keep yourself busy while you are at home?
