Blogmas Day 4: Christmas Holiday Bucket List {12.04.2021}

Happy Saturday everyone and welcome to day four of Blogmas! I hope you are having a wonderful Saturday day and are looking forward to a fun weekend ahead.  It is hard to believe we are already half way into the first week of December!

Today I thought it would be fun to share my Christmas holiday bucket list.  Some of the items on the list are specific to the Christmas holiday, but all of them could be adjusted to meet anyone that celebrates (or doesn't celebrate Christmas).  I hope you enjoy the list and get some inspiration for fun things to do over the next few weeks.

Christmas Holiday Bucket List

1. Watch class Christmas movies.  Some of my favorite classic Christmas movies are White Christmas and The Santa Claus movies.  I usually watch them at least once a year in December and this year will be no different.  I also plan to watch the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer stop animation movie, Elf and Home Alone.  If you want to, check back tomorrow to check out my top 5 Christmas movies post I'll be sharing.

2. Drive around and see holiday lights.  If you are local to me, you should check out the Magic of Lights at DTE Energy.  We went last year and it was fun! If that's not really your speed, you can always grab a hot chocolate at your favorite local coffee spot and drive around to see how different neighborhoods decorate their houses.

3. Drink hot cocoa and snuggle by the fire.  I think this is my favorite part part of the winter.  I love getting a nice hot cup of coffee or hot cocoa and snuggling by the fire.  There is something so special about snuggling with a hot beverage and listening to the fire crack.

4. Spend the day drinking holiday treats.  I love baking Christmas cookies, much like most people and it's so much fun putting on my favorite movies or music and just baking the day away.  I think my favorite cookies to make are my peanut butter cookies, but I do also love a classic chocolate chip cookie.

5. Make handmade decorations.  This year I am looking at making a wreath for our kitchen.  I made a wreath a few months back out of wooden beads and beautiful holiday florals.  Oh and of course ribbon! You cannot beat a pretty ribbon for a wreath.

6. Write Santa a letter.  This is not only fun for the kiddos, but is a fun idea for adults as well. I'm planning to write a letter to Santa for fun! Who doesn't love a good letter to Santa? Not your type of thing, you can write responses to letters for Santa for your kiddos.  Here's a few great inspiration posts: WikiHow & Pinterest

7. Sing Christmas songs or go caroling.  If you're anything like me, you love singing Christmas songs.  Especially some of the more fun and upbeat Christmas songs.  If you feel so inclined, you can go and sing those songs for your neighbors or see if any nursing homes have opportunities for you to volunteer.

8. Make paper snowflakes.  There are so many fun tutorials on Pinterest on how to make pretty paper ornaments.  And don't forget once they're all done, you can hanging them around the house for some extra decorations.

9. Go ice skating or sledding.  If there is enough snow outside, sledding is always a fun way to get outside and spend time playing out in the snow.  Not enough snow? No problem! Check out the local ice skating rink and go ice skating.  A lot of cooler areas have outside rinks that are decorated for the holidays.

10. Kiss under the mistletoe.  I think this one is pretty self-explanatory... but who doesn't love kissing their favorite person under the mistletoe?

Well I think that's everything for today! I hope you got some fun ideas of things you can do over the next few weeks.  I'm looking forward to trying to check all of these off my list!
