Today I thought it would be fun to share the top 5 Christmas movies on my list. I did something similar to this back in October for Halloween movies, so I figured why not do it again for Christmas movies? If you haven't started watching already, Hallmark has had their Christmas specials running for a little while already.
1. Elf. If you have not seen this movie, first of all where have you been? Second of all, you need to watch it this year. It is just so funny and wholesome and has a ton of great lines that can be quoted over and over even after the movie was done.
3. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Last year my girlfriends and I rented an entire theater and saw National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Surprisingly, one of the ladies hadn't seen the movie so it made it that much more enjoyable hearing someone laugh at it for their first time watching. This one maybe isn't very family friendly, but it is one I really enjoy watching. It's always good for a few hearty laughs. Also, crazy to think this movie is 32 years old and still makes people laugh today.
4. The Grinch. There are several versions of the grinch and I have to be honest I love all of them for all of their differences. The original cartoon is so fun to watch and enjoy, the Jim Carrey version always makes me laugh and is on that I find myself quoting frequently, and the newest animated version with Benedict Cumberbatch is also very good. To be honest, if any of them were to come on the TV I would likely sit down and watch them because I love the movies so much. Below you'll find the trailer to the newest animated version since it is the most recent.
5. Home Alone Movies. It was hard for me to pick my last favorite movie from the list because I really enjoy a lot of Christmas movies (like Christmas Chronicles, The Santa Claus movies and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer), but the Home Alone movies took the last slot. I love how creative the movies are and overall just enjoy watching the movies. If I had to pick my favorite movie of them all, it would have to be the first one. Such a classic.
