Blogmas Day 5: My top 5 Christmas Movies {12.04.2021}

Happy Sunday everyone and welcome to day five of Blogmas! I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday and are gearing up for the work week ahead.  It is hard to believe we are already half way into the first week of December!

Today I thought it would be fun to share the top 5 Christmas movies on my list.  I did something similar to this back in October for Halloween movies, so I figured why not do it again for Christmas movies? If you haven't started watching already, Hallmark has had their Christmas specials running for a little while already.

So without further adieu, here are my top 5 Christmas Movies:

1. Elf. If you have not seen this movie, first of all where have you been? Second of all, you need to watch it this year.  It is just so funny and wholesome and has a ton of great lines that can be quoted over and over even after the movie was done.

2. White Christmas. White Christmas is a classic movie.  Every year mom and I watch this movie while we make our Christmas cookies.  I think my favorite part is the music.  There are so many great songs for which you can sing along.  And it really is amazing to see how talented all of the actors/actresses were at the time the film was made.  If you like a good, classic movie I'd recommend watching White Christmas.

3. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.  Last year my girlfriends and I rented an entire theater and saw National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.  Surprisingly, one of the ladies hadn't seen the movie so it made it that much more enjoyable hearing someone laugh at it for their first time watching.  This one maybe isn't very family friendly, but it is one I really enjoy watching.  It's always good for a few hearty laughs.  Also, crazy to think this movie is 32 years old and still makes people laugh today.

4. The GrinchThere are several versions of the grinch and I have to be honest I love all of them for all of their differences.  The original cartoon is so fun to watch and enjoy, the Jim Carrey version always makes me laugh and is on that I find myself quoting frequently, and the newest animated version with Benedict Cumberbatch is also very good.  To be honest, if any of them were to come on the TV I would likely sit down and watch them because I love the movies so much.  Below you'll find the trailer to the newest animated version since it is the most recent.

5.  Home Alone MoviesIt was hard for me to pick my last favorite movie from the list because I really enjoy a lot of Christmas movies (like Christmas Chronicles, The Santa Claus movies and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer), but the Home Alone movies took the last slot.  I love how creative the movies are and overall just enjoy watching the movies.  If I had to pick my favorite movie of them all, it would have to be the first one.  Such a classic.

Well that is all for my top five Christmas movies! I hope you enjoyed reading my post and are looking forward to watching some fun and classic Christmas movies this month.  Check back tomorrow for day 6 of Blogmas! I'll be sharing a few gifts to get for the service people in your life.
