Summer 2023 Bucket List {06.16.23}

Hello and happy Friday friends! I hope you've had a wonderful week and are looking forward to celebrating Father's Day this weekend.  We will be heading out to dinner with my in-laws on Saturday and dinner with my family on Sunday.  It's crazy that we've reached the time of year that we're about to celebrate Father's Day.  I feel like 2023 is just flying by.

Today I thought it would be fun to put together my summer 2023 bucket list.  I haven't done a summer bucket list, I think ever.  So this will be fun to put together a few things I'd like to do this summer.  And given that summer starts next week {officially} I think it will be fun to give myself a few fun things to do!

My Summer 2023 Bucket List

1. Go for a Swim. This may be super simple, but the last few summers I have not made it a point to go swimming and this year I would like to change that.  Whether that's swimming at a pool, lake or the ocean I am determined to go swimming at some point.  If nothing else, I'll head over to my in-laws to use their pool.

2. Paddle Board Yoga.  Christina and I did paddle board yoga last month and it was so much fun.  I am hoping her and I can find another weekend to go and do yoga on the lake versus at the pool we were at last time.  I really love paddle boarding so it will be fun to try paddle board yoga on the lake.

3. Fruit picking of all kinds.  We always go strawberry picking with his family every year, but this year I'd like to get out and pick some other fruits.  I'm thinking I'd like to go and pick cherries and pears at the least, but if I have time for more I'll be sure to go and do that.  Justin's mom likes to go a lot so I'm hoping to go with her a few times.

4. Read a summer-themed book.  I usually try to read a season appropriate book around Christmas-time, so why not add a summer book to my list for this summer? I have one in mind, but I'm totally open to other ideas if you have any good book recommendations!

5. Visit a place in Michigan I've never been to before.  I've lived in this state for almost my entire life but have not been to a lot the state itself.  So my goal is to visit one place in Michigan I have not actually been to before.  I've got a few ideas up my sleeve, but will need to lock one down for this summer.

6. Pick lavender again.  My friend Vicki and I went to get lavender last summer and I really want to go again.  It will be sometime in July so we will need to start planning something soon.

7. Clean and organize the garage.  This one isn't necessarily fun, but we ordered a new car and will need to get the garage ready for a bigger vehicle.  So that means we will be working on getting the garage spruced up and ready for a new car!

8. Go to the DIA. I have not been to the Detroit Institute of Arts in a very long time, so I'd like to make my way there and check it out sometime.  I'm hoping to go with a friend or make it a date night with the hubby.

9. Make sun tea.  I've been seeing sun tea pop up everywhere lately, so why not make it a goal for the summer to make some sun tea? I'm not a huge tea drinker, but it could be fun to try a few different flavors and maybe add some tea to my collection.

10. Make homemade popsicles.  I've been seeing recipes everywhere to make homemade popsicles and now that we have a deep freezer I'm excited we will have the chance to make some popsicles at home and not worry about them taking up a ton of space.

Well that's all I have for now! I am excited that summer is right around the corner and look forward to spending some quality time with family and friends while also checking some things off of my list.
