What's Up Wednesday {04.29.20}

It has been SO very long since I last did a What's Up Wednesday Post! Back when I was much better about keeping a regular schedule, this was one of my favorite series that I did so I thought it would be fun to bring it back to the blog.  I am hoping that this becomes a regular post and you all enjoy reading them as I go along.

I'm linking up with Shay and Shaeffer to share what's been going on with us lately!

1. WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK

Monday: Air Fryer Chicken Nuggets
Tuesday: Taco Tuesday
Wednesday: Beef Stew
Thursday: Sante Fe Chicken
Friday: Takeout
Saturday: Saturday Seconds {leftovers}

2. WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT

My Grandma Jackie's birthday came and went this past week and I was thinking about how wonderful she was.  My grandma brought so much love and joy everywhere she went.  Someday I hope I am as wonderful as a "Gramma" as she was.

3. WHAT I'M LOVING

Every Saturday since we have been under the stay in place directive, we have had a virtual game night with our friends.  We mostly play Jackbox Games but we've also played a few others.  It is just so nice to "see" our friends every week as we hang out and talk.  Of course I miss seeing them in person, but I also love how much I've been able to spend time with them in the last 7 weeks.

4. WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO

One of our goals for 2020 was to paint our master bathroom and finish our master bedroom.  Last fall we painted the master bedroom and got all new furniture {hello matching furniture!} so it only made sense that we continue the refreshing into our master bathroom.  Because it's a small space, I did not want to do anything too dark so we ended up with a lighter version of the bedroom color which actually looks more blue than the bedroom does.  However, it works perfectly because I wanted a lighter blue color for the bathroom anyway.  I promise once we get the whole bathroom finished, I will share a post about the changes we made in the space.  In the meantime, here's a sneak peek.

5. WHAT I'M DREADING

So on an average non-COVID year, the majority of my doctors appointments {physical, gyno, dental, vision, etc.} all fall between the months of March and April.  Given that we have been on lockdown for some time now, I have had all but my allergist appointment canceled.  Once this is all lifted, I am not looking forward to trying to reschedule all of my appointments over the next few months.  This will also mess up my schedule for the foreseeable future, but I'm thankful for my health and that this is a minor inconvenience.

6. WHAT I'M WORKING ON

Another fun project we've been working on is Justin's office.  He was able to order a new sit/stand desk for his office {which is great since we're both working from home now} and it only made sense that we would go ahead and redo his office at the same time.  Especially since he had to remove everything from his office to begin with.

7. WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT

I'm really just excited to keep going on our house projects.  It's been so fun coming up with creative ideas for our space and finally making it feel like our home versus the house we bought.  It's funny, I never imagined that our theme would be mostly grays and blues.  But here we are painting every room a blue or gray color or some combination of the both.

8. WHAT I'M WATCHING/READING

This month I have been listening to and reading several books and have managed to finish two books this month: Girl, Interrupted and Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress.  Both of these books are part of the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge and I will be sure to share a review of the books in the coming weeks as part of the challenge.

I also watched Big Little Lies on HBO (both seasons) and Little Fires Everywhere.  I loved both shows, so of course I am listening to Big Little Lies on audiobook and bought Little Fires Everywhere to read.

9. WHAT I'M LISTENING TO

Have you heard the song "Sunday Best" by Surfaces? If you have not, I highly recommend listening it.
Also if you have not heard this song yet, this one made me smile quite a bit.  I hope you enjoy the video.

10. WHAT I'M WEARING

I'm pretty sure you know this, but my entire wardrobe consists of leggings and t-shirts.  What about you? Do you get dressed every day if you're home all the time?

11. WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND

This coming weekend we have a virtual game night planned with our friends and on Saturday I am attending the RISExLive event put on by the Hollis Co.  I'm very excited to do this event because I loved the RISE event I attended in Toronto.  If you're interested in checking the event out, go here.

12. WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH

May is always one of my favorite months because it's my birthday month! This year will be a bit different though because we won't be able to celebrate Mother's Day and my birthday like we usually do.  However, I am coming up with some fun ways we can celebrate from home.
