Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge: Book #6

Happy Sunday friend! I hope this post finds you enjoying a lovely and relaxing Sunday.  We are just hanging out around the house and doing a few weekend chores.  Nothing too excited.

I am so excited to share the sixth book in the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge: Charlotte's Web

Before I get into the review, I wanted to add a little disclaimer: Caroline and I started this journey back in September, so some of these books were read a ways back.  I finally felt like I had the time to take a break and write up my reviews of the books.  Eventually, I will catch up and my posts will be based on when I finish books, but for now I am sharing reviews from books read in 2019.  If you want to check out all of the books we've read so far, check out the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge page on my blog or check me out on Goodreads.

Reason I Picked this Book:
I picked this book from the list because I loved this book and movie as a child.  I think I watched that movie over 100 times as a kid so I was very excited to read the story again as an adult.

What's this Book About
Some Pig. Humble. Radiant. These are the words in Charlotte's Web, high up in Zuckerman's barn.
Charlotte's spiderweb tells of her feelings for a little pig named Wilbur, who simply wants a friend. They also express the love of a girl named Fern, who saved Wilbur's life when he was born the runt of his litter.
E. B. White's Newbery Honor Book is a tender novel of friendship, love, life, and death that will continue to be enjoyed by generations to come.

Recommended For:
This story is recommended for children ages 8-12 years old, but can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Something to Know:
If you have not watched the movie, I would highly recommend checking it out.  The movie does an excellent job of sticking to the main storyline of the book and the essence of the sweetness of the story.

Overall Rating: 5.0 out of 5.0 Stars
While the book is rated for children I really enjoyed reading it as an adult.  The story was so sweet and so enjoyable to read.  It definitely reminded me of some of my fonder memories as a child.
