Cider Mills & Apple Picking around Metro Detroit {09.10.2021}

Happy Friday friends and happy weekend! I hope you had a wonderful week and are looking forward to a fun weekend ahead.  Before I get to far in my post, I do want to take a moment of remembrance for the lives lost on September 11, 2001.  May the tragedy of that day never be forgotten.

For today's post, I thought it would be fun to share a list of good places in Metro Detroit to pick apples or get cider & donuts.  If you're from Michigan or the midwest, you know that cider and donuts is kinda big deal in the Fall.  And if you've been around the blog for a while, you know that we try to go apple picking every year.

Anyway! Here's a list of a few places you can go to pick apples, get cider & donuts or even do both.

Yates Cider Mill
Address: 1990 E. Avon Road, Rochester Hills
Website:https://www.yatescidermill.com/
Offering: Cider Mill, Donuts

Known for their donuts, Yates is a staple for me every year.  They have a cider mill where you can see the apples being pressed and pick up some cider and donuts for yourself.  When you're there make sure to take a walk around the river.  It's such a nice place to walk and a great place to enjoy your donuts.

Spicers Orchards & Winery
Address:10411 Clyde Rd, Fenton, MI 48430
Offering: Cider, Donuts, Apple Picking, Raspberry Picking, Plum Picking, Wine, Hard Cider

This is the same place that we go strawberry picking with Justin's family every year and we LOVE it there.  They are so organized, have a cute little grocery area filled with delicious treats and have a wide variety of pickins' every year.  Little tip: Check out the winery.  Their wine is delicious (I love the honey wine).

Westview Orchards & Winery
Address: 65075 Van Dyke, Washington, MI 48095
Offerings: Sunflower picking (September), Apples, Raspberries, Mums, Pumpkins, Squash, Bakery

This is the location we go every year for picking apples.  We started going there 9 years ago and have gone back ever since.  For this location you pay by the bag and they offer several different sizes/options of bags.  They also have a really fun play area for the kiddos if you wanted them to burn off some energy.  If you get a chance, head into the bakery and get a bacon donut - SO delicious.  They also have a winery where I would recommend checking out and doing a tasting.

Blake's Orchard and Cider Mill
Address:17985 Armada Center Road Armada, MI 48005
Offerings: Apple picking, beer/wine tasting, cider, donuts

I have not personally been to Blake's for Apple picking/cider & donuts, but have been there for Halloween events.  I really enjoyed the visit I had there and would gladly go back again for any reason.  From what friends and family have told me, Blake's is very family friendly and is easy to navigate.  Check them out if they're over in your area!

Franklin Cider Mill
Address: 7450 Franklin Rd. Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301
Offerings: Cider, donuts, pies and apples

I've only been to Franklin Cider Mill a handful of times, but I really enjoyed my visit.  You can see the entire pressing process and they are very educational for the little ones.  They offer a few different options for pick up and offer online ordering as well.
