Hello and happy May friends! How are we already in May? I cannot believe that we're already making our way into Spring. Michigan is finally starting to stay more consistently warm and I am loving it. Plus all of the pretty plants and flowers are sprouting up. I cannot wait to see what our plants look like this year. Our burning bushes are starting to sprout and I'm psyched.
May always ends up being crazy busy for us between Mother's Day, my birthday and my mom's birthday and this year is no different than previous years. But I am excited for everything we have planned this month.
On the Agenda this Month:
1. Seeing Anastasia with Vicki. I am excited because this Thursday I am going to see Anastasia I am going to see Anastasia on Broadway with my friend Vicki. I was originally going to go with my mom, but when they canceled the first two showings and we were moved to Thursday night my mom was already booked so I asked Vicki if she can go and I'm excited that she can go.
2. May the 4th/Cinco de Mayo: This year I am hoping to do something fun for both May the 4th and Cinco de Mayo. Right now I'm thinking I will make it a point to watch at least one of the movies on Wednesday while Justin is a golf and with Anastasia on Thursday I'll probably do tacos or something Wednesday too.
3. Mother's Day Celebration. I am super excited because this year we are able to go back to our favorite restaurant for brunch to celebrate our moms. With the pandemic, the restaurant has not had Mother's Day brunch and we have been missing it. So this year we are going to go have brunch with our parents.
4. Dinner with my dad. My dad will be in town for the night next week so we will be doing something with him for dinner and I'm going to offer for him to spend the night here too if he wants. That way we have more time together.
5. Going to Holland {Michigan}. I am very excited because this year my mom and I area heading up to Holland, Michigan to check out the Tulip festival. Neither of us have been to check out the tulips so I am excited that we're going. We will leave Friday morning and spend the night out there at a local bed and breakfast. It will be so fun.
6. My birthday celebration. A little after my birthday we will be doing a small game night with our friends filled with games, cake and pizza. I love when our friends come over and we can just have a fun evening.
7. Celebrate Mom's birthday. To celebrate my mom's birthday this year my brother and his wife and us are going to go to church with them and out to lunch to celebrate her birthday. I'm excited they're coming down because this is the first time we've seen them since my brother told us they were pregnant.
8. Downton Abbey: A New Era. I'm also excited because Downton Abbey has a new movie coming out this month and I am going to see it with a few of my girlfriends.
9. Foster Kittens Visit. For 10 days in May we will have three little kittens visiting. We have not been fostering for a long time so I am excited that we have the opportunity to have little kitties around for a little less than two weeks. It will be the perfect amount of time and I can't wait to have them here.
10. Doctor appointments. I'm not sure how I managed to do this but I've scheduled myself 3 different doctor appointments this month. Thankfully they're at the beginning or end of the work day so I will be able to work around them but jeez why did I do that to myself?
Goals for May
Last month I wanted to read three books, clean out the garage and renew my license plate. Well..... I didn't finish a single book, the garage is still a mess BUT I did renew my license and my tabs for my plates. I am now the proud owner of a Real ID/Enhanced Driver's License. So this month I am going to work on getting myself back on track.
1. Read three books: To catch up from my rough month last month, I really should make my goal 6-7 books for this month, but I'm thinking that is a bit unrealistic for me. So for now, I am aiming for 3 books in May.
2. Clean out the garage. We finished our living room which I totally love, but there is a huge mess in our garage now. So once we get a good weather day we will be spending some time in the garage getting everything cleaned up.
Well I think that is everything for today! I hope your May is off to a great start.
