tuesday things {08.27.24}

                    

Happy Tuesday friends! I hope you are enjoying a great start to your week and have many fun things to look forward to for the rest of the week.  Today I am doing another round of 5 Things Friday where I share 5 things from the past week.  If you want to see past Tuesday Things, click here. 

1. We went up north this weekend and spend time with Justin's parents at their cabin.  It was nice to get away and have some time a little bit disconnected.  They don't have the best service up there, so it's always nice to get away and be difficult to reach. 

2. We're going on a spending freeze for the month of September.  We have been making a lot of somewhat unnecessary purchases lately so we sat down over the weekend and made the decision to go on a spending freeze in September which will include no unnecessary spending, limiting eating out to once a week and cooking meals/eating at home every day.  

3. I am not sure why I did this to myself, but I signed up for five book clubs this month and a few of the books are rather long. I am not too worried about getting them done, but I have a tendency to wait until the last minute to finish books so I'm planning to get ahead this month and get books done about a week ahead. 

4. I also signed up for a Stardew Valley themed readathon this month which is going to be so much fun.  It's a team event so every book you finish you get points per page.  AND, they're giving points for other self-care items which is not standard for readathons.  It's great for those days that reading just does not sound appealing. 

5. I also started crocheting a blanket for myself.  I saw the yarn a few weeks ago while I was at Joann Fabrics with my friend and I came home and found a pattern specifically for that yarn and immediately ordered it.  I cannot wait to finish the blanket. It will be perfect for me in the winter time.
